A Thousand Words

Well we did it! And we want all the awards………Bent Prop, Skunk, rubber chicken, etc.
We are spending the next week here on Amelia Island in the Fernandina Historic District while our ‘home away from home’ is in the boat yard. She is getting some damage repaired to her bottom. We were going to have the bottom painted anyway while we were in the Bahamas, so it is just being done a little early.
We missed the channel to go from St. Simon’s to Jekyll Island so Jerry and I looked carefully and decided we could just enter the channel after the first marker………WRONG……… There was a rock jetty completely hidden by the tide. By the time the Boat US arrived to pull us off, the tide was already going out and it was decided to wait until the evening high tide, which we did and she floated off.
We are in a nice bed and breakfast here in Fernandina. We even get the use of mopeds if we want them but the weather is still kinda chilly but sunny today. We are going downstairs to the restaurant/bar area to watch the Super Bowl Game.
